Interregional Directorate Liguria Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta – ADM-Cert

A very in-depth and enlightening speech was given by the Official of the Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM), Piero Porcu, who illustrated the challengig phases of the construction of the control plan for the Vermouth of Turin, a specific product which does not fall into the category of “wine”, nor in that of “spirit drink”.
The idea of including the ADM within the world of certifications was born from the observation that the Agency follows all Italian processing factories for tax reasons, therefore all producers of vermouth and spirit drinks in general.
As a working model – Piero Porcu said – we started from the Genepì control plan – which constituted the “control plan number zero” – implemented also thanks to the Central Inspectorate for the Protection of Quality and Repression of Fraud in agri-food products (ICQRF). Starting from this small but very significant project, today the ADM has been chosen as the control body for twenty-two other Geographical Indications of spirit drinks. Lastly, with the MASAF decree of 03/22/2023 ADM was designated as the certification body for Italian Grappa and Brandy.
